Maple Syrup

We tap 10 sugar maple tree's and collected about 15 gallons of sap... Saturday we boiled down 6 gallons in which took 7 hours and got about 12oz of Maple syrup which taste fantastic however while finishing it off I overcooked it and it's a bit thick... we are going to take the remain 9 gallons over to some friends on friday and boil it down in their large evaporator and learn about the process a little more in hope's to build a 'sugar shack' out in our wood next year as Steve really doesn't want to haul 75 pounds of maple syrup in a backpack again... the terrian of our wood's doesn't not allow for a ATV or tractor to get out to where our sugar maples are and that the 18 inches of snow that was still out in the wood this past weekend... Maple Syruping is a lot more work than we anticipated!!! Anyway we will be moving on to animals here as it warms up and I am looking foward to that!!

What could it be...

Now those munchkins are intreged by something, and I think it's just the cutest thing I've ever seen... We got a new toy and they were watching daddy (uncle steve is jacob's case) drive it into the shop! When the weather is a little nice and we get it cleaned up we'll take some picture's and post them stay tuned!!

P.s. the SNOW is almost gone and it's a rainy/icey/windy day and I'm hoping that one of these HUGE 3 pine tree's next to the livingroom don't come crashing down on house... oh how I want to cut them down very bad!!!

Tea Party

A week ago Eva and I went to a Mother-Daughter Tea Party with some very dear friends of ours, We had just a wonderful time and Eva has not stop talking about it since... she would really like to take Amelia to a Tea Party now.
Eva wasn't so fond of the tea so we put water in her tea cup... She really wanted chocolate milk in her tea cup, we were sitting right next to a chocolate fondue fountain and she thought it was chocolate milk and couldn't understand why she couldn't fill her cup up!!
It was such a good time, I can't wait to do it again with her and Amelia when she get a little bigger!!

Outside...

We like to take walks out in the pasture and woods on Saturday and Sunday afternoons... It really is refreshing!!
The snow out at the back of the pature was over a foot deep in some place and Eva and daddy had to walk like penguins so that
they would not fall through the deep snow, Amelia wanted no part of it and insisted that she was cold!!

dirty hands

Poor little Minnie had a big mess with her dirty hands
but it didn't stop her from staying out in the mud to play.
Eva was convinced that it was cow poop everywhere!
