another skirt

I made myself another skirt, I am slowly learning what style I like and the placement of the zipper I prefer!! Which means I am happy with the outcome, I saw this material at Hobby Lobby when I was picking up somethings I need to finish a Tinkerbell Nightshirt for a certain little Tinkerbell of my own! I thought I would make the perfect Fall skirt and easily wear into winter plus I have tons of sweaters I can change the look up!!

teeth

Eva had her first Dentist appointment on my birthday... Tuesday!! I was so impressed with how well she did, not one whimper or whine came from her. She didn't refuse at all she was such a big girl and made me so incredible PROUD!!! She is my girl with the beautiful teeth, she got those from her daddy, he has perfect teeth minus the cavity problem he seems to have... I'm sure years of Pepsi and snickers doesn't have a thing to do with it!!! Now my little Amelia yeah she has my teeth which means she will most likely need braces, thank you mom... cause I'm pretty sure that's where I got them from since my dad has pretty nice teeth also!!

Way to go Eva, you are becoming such an amazing little lady!!

Farmland Flax Cookies

I've branched out beyond the trusted chocolate chip cookies we are all so fond of. In search of a healthy snack for the whole family to enjoy and everybody loved them including the cookie monster (aka PaPa)

Try them for yourselve and remeber the possiblities are endless you can and any little sweet great to them...

Farmland Flax Cookies - A popular cookie that everyone loves.
Butter 1 1/3 cups
Granulated sugar 1 1/4 cups
Brown sugar 1 1/2 cups
Flax seed- 1 1/2 cups
Large eggs 3
Vanilla 1 1/2 tsp
All-purpose flour 3 1/2 cups (try a mix of whole wheat flour/all purpose)
Baking soda 1 tbsp
Oatmeal 3 cups

In a bowl, cream butter and sugars; add flax seed. In another bowl, beat eggs and vanilla together. Combine with flax mixture. Sift together the flour and soda. Mix in oatmeal and combine with other ingredients. Form dough into 4 cm (1 1/2 inch) round logs. Place in freezer and chill. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Slice into .5 cm (1/4 inch) medallions. Place on baking sheet leaving about 5 cm (2 inches) between cookies.
Bake 13 to 15 minutes. Remove from sheet and cool Yield: 108 cookies (5 cm/2 inches) I'd toss in some raisins and dates, some cinnamon and a dash of ginger too! I bet 1/2 of a mashed banana or even 1/2 cup of diced apples would be lovely in this recipe too!

Amelia's Joy

And Amelia found joy in this little are just for little tykes!! and it was FREE play all day!! and there were more crazy coops than she new what to do with. This is the best thing I have ever seen at a fair, when they get restless just let them run and play for a while then it's off to look at more animals!! I think they had at least 20 different toys for kids to play on and there were never more than 10 kids in there at any one time.

I came across this Rose cupcake at the store the other day when I ran for some milk and the first this I thought of was Eva... everything about it I knew she would love!! and she did, what shocked me the most was that she didn't eat it all not even half of it. I don't even think she ate a quater of it but she really enjoyed it!

Monday Night Dinner

Sunday night we made Spaghetti (with our new season) Homemade Spaghetti Sauce and Apple Pie with the apple's picked from Brightonwoods Orchard to take to our dear friends with the new little baby, I can't get enough of and makes me want another!

So Monday night I made Low Fat Pheasant Stir Fry which turned out to be amazingly delicious I was skeptical! Not my usually taste, but Steve and Ely worked hard at getting that pheasant last winter it was about time I cooked it! The recipe really called for chicken but when your husband hunts you learn that you can substitute just about anything!!

That brings us to Tuesday... the girls would not be going for something crazy like Pheasant Stir Fry or anything along those lines two nights in a row so we had homemade sloppy Joe's... mac and trees!! (macaroni and cheese with steamed broccoli)!! Miss Eva's favorite!!

Then it was off to vote and we never ate Eva's ~Rose Cupcake~ I guess well do that for breakfast tomorrow... come back for picture's just so long as I don't forget to take pictures of it!!

Papa take me for a ride!!!

Eva is always wanting to go for a ride on Papa's tractor, a couple of weeks ago Dad had the combine out getting it ready for harvest and Eva was not about to pass up an opportunity to go for a ride in this big guy!!

So one tiny little spin around the front yard and she was a smitten kitten!! Oh how that girl loves the farm she reminds me of another little girl with curls!!

Honey Whole Wheat Bread

Today Amelia and I were going to make bread together because Eva got a new Barney video that she wanted to watch but as you can tell, Barney is not nearly as fun a making bread!! Yah for making bread!! She barely even got into the video when she realized we were up to something in the kitchen and had to join the fun!!

This was the first time I made this particular recipe of Honey Whole Wheat... I have attempted Whole Wheat in the past I'm not sure once or twice, I recall the time when our yeast was expired and that batch didn't turn out at all. The other reason I don't make whole wheat is because Steve doesn't care for whole wheat... I do bake to please!! However, he told me that this was the best Whole Wheat Bread he has every had!! :-}... As he loaded the top of it with honey, his favorite topping for bread!!

I do believe the girls and I will be making this one again... thank you very much for the recipe Betty Crocker, I couldn't do it with out you.

That silhouette in the lower left is Miss Eva dancing to the end of Barney she would resist when she heard the song to run back in for the farewell!! I've gotta run now cause she should be sleeping but has to go potty then it's lights out... more and more excited for that new house of ours!!!!!!!!

almost forgot... the top middle yeap that's Miss Amelia teething on the kitchen chair sorry Grandma, I stopped her right away. She didn't mind she moved on to sticking her finger's in the flour and eating it...
